industrial milk pasteurizer
An industrial milk pasteurizer is selected against the dairy stream actually pumped, not against a generic beverage drawing. Fat, homogenization location, incoming temperature from the silo, required hold, and the filler or separator that sits upstream and downstream all change plate gap, hold-tube volume and CIP. Industrial Pasteurizer Sourcing maps those application facts onto RFQ questions. It does not file a PMO process, guarantee a bacterial kill, or treat a milk handbook example as a universal recipe. Holding performance must be described across the operating flow range; a single nameplate litre-per-hour figure is not enough.
Production stage
- Operating context
- Typical US dairy plants pasteurize after clarification or standardization and before filling or further processing. Confirm representative milk samples, separator and homogenizer interfaces, and whether cream or flavored milk SKUs share the same skid. Juice campaigns belong on the specification-review page; do not collapse them into the milk envelope without new viscosity and acidity data.
| Decision point | Evidence or question |
|---|---|
| Production stage: Design input | Record milk type, fat, incoming temperature, required pasteurization temperature, holding time in seconds, min/normal/max flow, pipe diameter, and whether homogenization is upstream or downstream of the heater. Supply voltage and steam pressure with the same packet. Who establishes and validates the thermal process for this product must be named here, not inferred from a factory brochure. |
| Supplier answer | Ask how holding time is kept when flow falls or rises, where temperature is measured at the hold, how flow-diversion responds, and how differential pressure is maintained on regeneration so pasteurized milk does not see raw-side leakage. Request a flow-path sketch, not only a plate count. |
| Open deviation | Flag quotes that omit the holding tube, treat a plate pack as the entire pasteurizer, or use water FAT as if it proved milk holding. Also flag missing upstream/downstream nozzle lists for separators, homogenizers or pasteurized tanks. Those gaps stay open until the named factory answers them. |
